The Rock and Audubon International
A Certified Audubon Cooperative SanctuaryThe Rock Golf Club has achieved designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program (ACSP), an award winning education and certification program that helps golf courses protect our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf.
Audubon Partners for the Environment Program
Audubon Partners for the Environment program engages people from all walks of life in protecting and enhancing the land, water, wildlife and natural resources around them. The Rock Golf Club is a proud participant committed to adhering to the projects in the following categories:
WILDLIFE
Projects in this category involve attracting and monitoring birds, gardening with wildlife in mind and creating & maintaining wildlife habitat. Our program for selecting native and non-invasive plant species for gardens will create a sustainable habitat for birds and wildlife for years to come.
WATER
Water conservation is a priority and the projects in this category will be ongoing. We follow strict guidelines set out by the municipality and the Ministry of Natural Resources in order to keep our water usage in check. We want to make sure the natural resources available to us will be available for generations that follow.
EDUCATION
It will be a pleasure to complete projects in this category. Some examples of projects include trail guides and environmental displays.
ECO-EFFICIENCY
This category will require cooperation from all the departments at The Rock, with help from our many guests. Together we can make a difference by reducing our waste, recycling appropriately and respecting our surroundings.
